"It was an unbelievable experience," coach Tim Moser said. "She walked in and she was really cordial, really down to earth, and she said some really great things about what athletics taught her.
"She talked about when she won the state tournament and talked about the self-discipline that it takes to be a part of a team. I thought she had some great things to say."
Moser said it took some time for his players to loosen up around the former vice-presidential candidate. "I think some of our kids were a little star-struck," he said. "And I was too."
